Pair of George III Pine and Composition Pedestals
In the manner of Thomas Chippendale, circa 1780
Each circular top with egg-and-dart-carved edge above a beaded tapering support husk swags and composition cameo portraits after the antique, the neck carved with beading, long leaves and a guilloche, the tapering fluted standard continuing to a fluted collar, the socle with long leaves, the tripartite plinth with applied oak leaves, the sides with a Vitruvian scroll, raised on molded scrolled feet. Height 54 3/4 inches (1.39 m), diameter of top 12 1/2 inches (31.7 cm), diameter overall 17 1/2 inches (44.4 cm).
