Set of Twelve George III Leather-Upholstered Inlaid-Mahogany Dining Chairs by Gillows
Each with crossbanded rectangular top rail above a slatted backerst and overupholstered seat, raised on tapering reeded legs joined by X-form stretchers; some inscribed in pencil with craftmen's names Collins and Oakey (?), one inscribed in pencil Red (?). Height of backrest 33 1/2 inches (85 cm), width of backrest 16 inches (40.6 cm), height of seat 18 inches (40.6 cm), width of seat 20 inches (50.8 cm), depth of seat 18 inches (45.7 cm).
