Pair of George III Sterling Silver Covered Entrée Dishes
Paul Storr, London, 1805
Each of rectangular form with canted corners and gadrooned borders, the cover with a ring finial, engraved with heraldic arms. Length 12 1/4 inches (31.1 cm.), total approximately 117 ounces.
Arms of Bewicke with Spearman in pretence for Calverley Bewicke, High Sheriff of Northumberland (1782) and Member of Parliament for Winchelsea (1806-1815).

Good condition overall; the bases engraved with heraldic crests; the interior bases with marking and scratching as expected from normal use; underside of one base with 1 inch gouge; some wear to hallmarks, but clearly legible; good details to engraved crest and arms; covers and bases marked 1 and 2; the finials hallmarked with maker's mark, city and standard marks; some bruising and denting to rims of finials
