London: MacMillan, 1872. First edition, first issue with "wade" for "wabe" on page 21. Publisher's gilt stamped cloth, housed in an old cloth box labeled "Alice in Wonderland." 7 1/4 x 5 inches (18 x 12.5 cm); illustrations by John Tenniel, 224 pp., ad leaf. Cocked and somewhat worn, the hinges split, spotting, some bubbling to cloth on cover and beginnings of splits to joints.
