NEW YORK, NY – Doyle’s Fine Jewelry auction on June 21, 2017 offered a wide range of jewelry with more moderate estimates than in the Important Jewelry category of sales. Showcased were glittering creations – including many signed pieces – set with diamonds, colored stones and pearls, as well as gold jewelry, fine watches, and gentlemen's accessories.

With competitive bidding in the salesroom, on the telephones and on the Internet, the auction totaled $1,842,117 against a pre-sale estimate of $1,475,400-2,088,400, with an exceptional 83% sold by lot and 92% sold by value.

Highlighting the sale was an elegant diamond and emerald straight-line bracelet that achieved $53,125, doubling its estimate of $20,000-30,000. The bracelet was noteworthy for the brilliance of the well-matched African emeralds.

Diamond rings in the sale featured a classic engagement ring by Cartier set with an emerald-cut diamond, approx 2.63 carats, E color, VS1 clarity, consigned by the Estate of Jane Kitselman. Determined bidders sent the price of the ring far over its estimate of $15,000-20,000 to a strong $37,500. Colored stone rings included a gold ring by Cartier set with an emerald-cut Ceylon sapphire, approx. 7.55 carats, that realized $23,750, many times its estimate of $6,000-8,000.

All prices include the Buyer's Premium.
