According to papers that have descended in the consignor's family, this Kast was on loan and exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum of Art from late 1956 until 1987. It was then loaned and exhibited at the Heckscher Museum, in Huntington, Long Island, from 1897 until 1990. During these loans and exhibitions, the kast was thought to date to the late 17th century and to be of Dutch origin.
