Additional Notes & Condition Report

Shade: Appears to be in generally good condition; shade appears to be in the round; shade appears to be generally nice and "tight;" there is wear to gilding to the bronze elements, including both rims and the etched metal wings, lead lines, etc.; the underside of the shade has retained its bright gilding and the gilding may have been re-gilt at some point in the lamp's history; none of the glass segments appear to be missing; there is no immediate sense or appearance that there has been any repair or replacement/substitution to any of the individual glass segments; apparently, three of the individual translucent green colored glass segments that form the wings of the dragonflies have a tight hairline crack; approximately one of the centrally located larger size mottled yellow glass segments has a tight hairline crack; approximately two of the small opalescent/turquoise colored glass segments that form the body of two of the dragonflies have a tight hairline crack; approximately three of the lower geometric border glass segments near the bottom rim edge have a tight hairline crack;

Base: Appears to be in generally good condition; the base is not and does not appear to ever have been gilt; the patina is uniformly mottled brown with areas of green patina; the patina shows evidence of heavy wear, rubbing and dulling, etc., which is consistent with age, usage and handling; there are some flake losses to the patina; there are three light sockets; the sockets appear to be old but may be later replacements; each light socket has plastic on/off switches marked WEBER; each socket is currently in good working condition; the cord has been replaced; the ring mount at the top of the shade that supports the leaded shade appears to be original; the pierced metal cap may or may not be an authentic/original Tiffany Studios lamp heat cap; the knob on the heat cap is detached but is present and works properly to secure the cap and shade to the shaft of the lamp base
