Louis XVI Giltwood Pier Mirror
Late 18th century
The beveled rectangular mirror plate within a pierced mirrored frame carved with grape clusters and leaves, the corners with Greek keys, surmounted by a pierced cresting centered by a basket of fruit, the apron with scrolled supports. Height 62 inches (1.57 m), width 38 inches (96.5 cm).

Unrestored condition, appearing to retain much of the original gilding, now with craquelure to gesso under gilding, commensurate with age, mirror plates with oxidation, losses to silvering and possibly original, age cracks to cresting, losses to gilding with rubbing to bottom frame of mirror (where dusted), chips and losses to leaf tips.
