BERLIOZ, HECTOR Autograph letter in French boldly signed.
Single page in black ink on a folded sheet of paper, dated [Paris] 23 April 1851, addressed by Berlioz on the outer leaf to M. Lemétéyer. 8 1/8 x 5 1/4 inches (20.5 x 13.5 cm); the body of the text 9 lines, plus greeting and felicitations. Usual folds, the outer leaf with stamp and postmarks and remains of seal.
Berlioz writes to thank Captain Lemétéyer at Le Havre for his courtesy and consideration during a recent voyage. Sold with a fine cabinet card of Berlioz by Reutlinger, and a copy of the first published edition of the Mémoires de Hector Berlioz, 1870, with the photographic portrait of the composer as frontispiece.
