Federal Inlaid Mahogany Tall Case Clock
Attributed to John Scudder, Westfield, New Jersey, early 19th century
The scrolled pediment with three brass finials, the painted dial with moon phase, subsidiary seconds dial and day-of-the-month, the serpentine arched case door flanked by fluted corner columns, the serpentine apron continuing to splayed bracket feet. Height 7 feet 11 1/2 inches, width 17 inches, depth 9 1/2 inches.

Tight cracks to frieze, filled cracks to side of hood and case, right side of case sunfaded, warping to case door, repair to left front foot, feet appear to be original, some edgewear and dents, repairs to feet, putty repair to left oval insert in frieze, weights and pendulum present.
