Young Man: Numbered 55.64 on the reverse of the backing. Paper is laid to card, which is laid to a second card support. Light stains.

Young Woman: Numbered 55.65 on the reverse of the backing. Paper is laid to card which is laid to a second card support. Stains in the corner spandrels of the paper, possibly transferred from still-damp paint on the eglomise panel.
