Chippendale Walnut High Chest
Philadelphia, circa 1775
The scrolled pediment with three flame finials above an arrangement of five small drawers, the center drawer with concave shell flanked by foliage, and three long drawers, the lower section with a long drawer over three small drawers, the center drawer with concave shell flanked by foliage, the scalloped apron centering a shell, raised on acanthus carved cabriole legs ending in claw and ball feet. Height 8 feet 1 inch, width 42 inches, depth 21 inches.
