Additional Notes & Condition Report

Six of the plates are marked on the front side 11A and 88, for the 11th Artel; the other six plates are marked 11MA and 88, probably also denoting the 11th Artel. Accordingly, at least six, and probably all twelve, of these plates bear marks for the 11th Artel and not the 1st Artel, as stated in the catalogue.

With regard to condition, there are some light scratch marks or abrasions to the enameled areas of the plates, particularly in the area of the colored bands.

There is light scratching and nicks to the two ruby enameled plates along the ruby enameled bands.

There are small flake injuries to the enameled areas in the center of the plate with the pink (rose) band.

Plate with violet band has an area of color infilling to the cobalt foliate decoration; there is also another small area of flaking to the cobalt decoration.

Each of the plates with the turquoise band have an area of flaking/fracture to the cobalt enameling.

Each of the plates with the sapphire bands have an area of loss to the amethyst enameling.

Plate with the violet band has approximately four areas of flaking to the cobalt colored foliate decoration in the central medallion.
